TOPGUN NIGHTMARE
The nightmare range of lures remains one of the premier lures of the Topgun line-up. A Must for everyone's lure collection. A proven design in 5 different sizes. All lead weighted (loaded) and because of the careful selection of weight and its positioning, this lure is one of the easiest of slice-fronted lures to run in all postions, but dont be scared to pull it up short! Aggressive head shakes and smokey bubble trial unlike any other.
Because of this lure's design, the positioning on pressure waves behind the boat is less critical than most other slice-fronted lures and runs well in all weather conditions.
Yet to be beaten, the Nightmare has hooked and captured a number of large Marlin and as many again have been lost due to their size. A 1,265lb Blue Marlin was hooked and landed in Mauritius on a large Nightmare on a boat owned by Octave Lagesse, the Albatross. This is believed to be one of the largest certified Blue Marlin captures on a lure, if not the largest. The boat Albatross has a number of other captures to its credit on Topgun Nightmare lures.
Outstanding Marlin and a number of other species of fish have been captured on the Nightmare lure throughout the world. For example, one boat in the Canary Islands, in a two week period captured Blue Marlin of 671lb, 704lb, 726lb, and 836lb. Other captures include a 664lb Blue Marlin, caught at Port Stephens on a 9-1/2 inch Nightmare. The biggest fish caught on a Magnum Nightmare is a 1089lb Blue Marlin.
As well as being available in all popular colours and multi-colours, this lure is available in natural pearl shell, abalone and paua shell.
AUSSIE APPOLLO
The 12 inch Appollo originated from the home of game fishing, Hawaii. This is a tournament winning specialist lure and has taken a number of significant Marlin captures. The large Appollo has been the most successful Marlin lures to swim. An astute lure, fisherman will notice that the large Topgun Appollo is not perfectly round but slightly "egg-shaped". This is not a production error but it has been found that this slight oval shaping improves the action, enhances its bubble action and helps keep it in the water.
Topgun Appollos have also accounted for a number of significant captures. Capture in Bermagui NSW was a 94kg specimen on a light blue large Appollo.
Because of the success of the large Appollo, Topgun has developed two smaller sizes suitable for trolling on light line. These two smaller sizes are not identical down-sizing of the original and have subtle changes in their shape and ratio of length to diameter to improve their "fishability". They are both easy to troll, produce a good bubble trail and track straight.
The Medium Appollo was responsible for Topgun’s second certified Marlin capture in excess of 1,000lb, a Blue of 1,108lb caught in the Canary Islands. This lure is also suitable for and has been successful on most pelagic fish.
The Small Appollo is an ideal light tackle lure. It is suitable for all tuna species and is an excellent choice when light tackle fishing for small marlin and sailfish.

Topgun Awesome. Clear tint under Glitter Blue top on white shell insert
TOPGUN AWESOME
The Awesome is another big fish lure in the Topgun line-up. It can be trolled either from the outrigger or flat and is suitable for most sea conditions.
It produces a long dense smoke trail and has a predictable swimming action, no matter where it is placed in the lure pattern. Awesome has been specifically designed to target Marlin species, but has been found attractive to other large predators such as tuna which obviously haven't read the design rule.
The best fish that we know of to date and the largest Blue marlin taken on a lure in Australian Waters to date is a 997lb Blue Marlin captured at Batemans Bay, Australia. This still remains the largest Blue Marlin captured on a lure in Australian waters and for about 20 years the largest ever. This capture still holds current Australian and NSW state records

TOPGUN 500 series
The Topgun 500, 501, 502 lures are modelled with big Blue and Black Marlin in mind.
These lures are very easy to troll and are a relatively deep diving lure, producing a long continuous trail irresistible to predators.
They are a straight trolling lure and can be trolled either from the outriggers or the flat lines and is ideally suited to trolling in close and set on the side of the boats wake.

TOPGUN PLUNGERS
The Mega Plungers, built on the success of the Super Plunger is the biggest lure in the Topgun range. The Mega Plunger is designed to single out big fish yet still be practical to troll. Like its smaller brother, The Mega Plunger is easy to troll and produces a huge bubble trail, with minimal line drag. It is recommended for use on heavy tackle only. Available in a range of natural shell inserts or highly reflective holographic paper. A must if you are only interested in big fish.
The Super Plunger is one of the most successful large Marlin lures available. A number of captures have exceeded the magical 1,000lb benchmark. This lure is easy to troll from the rigger or flat lines, tracking straight and producing a significant continuous bubble trail. As the name implies, the lure lips the surface then dives quite deep. Because of the design of the Super Plunger and small face diameter it can be trolled on relatively light line (24kg) for a lure of its size. Fluorescent yellow Super Plungers with matching skirts are irresistible to Marlin. A fish of approximately 1,100lb was released in Cairns. This lure was continuously singled out of the pattern and generated most of the interest by the fish, whenever it was trolled.
The Little Plunger was developed by Topgun and is a 72% scaled down version of its larger brother. Very soon after its introduction, the lure was successful in raising and taking a number of Blue and Black Marlin.
As with the Super Plunger, the Little Plunger is suitable to be trolled from the transom or the outriggers in all weather conditions.
All three Plungers are available in all popular colours, including multi-colour, with the option of special pearl colours which change colours as the angle of the light changes on the lure. These pearl colours are an excellent choice as they imitate the natural colour of squid and appear to be very attractive to predators when matched with suitable skirt colours.
